When it comes to nightlife, Los Angeles clubs offers some of the finest music, dancing and good times. Here are some of the places where beautiful people go to party.
Troubadour
At the top of my list is the world famous Troubadour. This landmark location in West Hollywood has been the launching pad for some of music’s most talented performers. Artists such as Elton John and James Taylor performed there when they were just beginning to create a buzz. The same tradition exists today with cutting-edge acts from around the globe, like the Killers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Rise Against.![]()
Hotel Café
Then there is the Hotel Café, situated in Hollywood, just blocks away from the intersection of Hollywood and Vine. Voted Best Music Venue in LA by CItysearch editors in 2006 this club offers an affordable way to enjoy some of the best music in Los Angeles. This up-close and personal venue has been raved about by critics everywhere: Carson Daly, NPR, LA Times.
Spaceland
If you are closer to downtown Los Angeles, you want to check out Spaceland. Located in the middle of the Silverlake, this is where you can mingle with artists, writers, musicians and strange looking characters while you listen to some great bands that no one has heard of outside this thriving underground community. Many consider this the number one club in town. Spaceland has featured many well known rockers, before they were well-known, such as the The Decemberists, Arctic Monkeys, The Shins, and even the Foo Fighters.
The Echoplex
For those looking for a younger, hipper, laid back crowd, The Echoplex is the place for you. You will find this club’s Gothic themed design helps create a perfect ambiance to enjoy great music and order awesome drinks from the leather covered bars, bar stools and ottomans. There is a projection system that plays retro movies while the bands play everything form reggae to rock. When the music is not playing, there are some amazing DJs to keep you grooving. Echoplex features the LA’s best drum and bass, dub, electro, and hip-hop DJs.
Key Club
If heavy metal, hard rock, or being at “THE” spot on the Sunset Strip is your bag? Try the Key Club. This venue is a great place to see bands with an excellent sound system and a great view of the stage from anywhere in the main room. The style of music at that has been seen at include A Perfect Circle, George Clinton, and Cinderella. If you are looking for a more relaxed environment, the Key Club features a downstairs room that offers food and ambiance. On any given night, you might or might not get in, so be prepared to move on down to some of the other fabulous clubs located on the strip.
